As we step into the new year, I can’t help but reflect on the lengthy journey it took to get here. I was 24 when I wrote Overture originally. Now at 34, the story almost feels like a relic - trapped in the trends and tropes of its time. Ironic, considering it originated from my wanting to break out of the popular themes in contemporary romance at that time.
I hate that it's taken so long to get it back out there, but I also think only the me of today could have made it satisfactory (for my eyes, at least). I needed some more experience and the ability to take a step back and objectively lay out all the faults.
There were several years when I thought I was done writing entirely, so I'm happy to have proven my past self wrong.
For those who checked in on me and the story of Daphne and Ethan over the years, thank you and I'm sorry. Your support, excitement, and feedback (even if angry) have meant the world to me. As of now, the free download link for the rerelease has been removed, but I’m happy to announce that both books are now available in paperback on Amazon!
So what's next? As I stated previously, I will be taking a break from the Rain Dance Series to work on other projects for the time being. That being said, I will still be posting here and there about the series as there's still much to share, like playlists and moodboards. And in the future, I hope to share some videos where I talk much more in-depth about it.
Thank you for being part of this journey, and cheers to a new year full of more romance!
